Avian Glen News Letter - Mar/09
Posted on Feb 16th, 2009
Can you believe March is here, winter is hopefully on the way out, and my outdoor honey do chores are adding up. The following subjects are addressed below: budget, website, landscaping, crime watch, committees, and my favorite pools, ponds, sprinklers, and misc. Enjoy and as always let us know if you have any questions.
As a reminder your April dues statement you will see a $10 increase. Five of the $10 dollars is being used in the operating budget and the other five went into capital improvement.
I would like to thank the 132 homeowners that are registered on the website. This means we still have 89 homes that are still not register. If you are one of those that have not register or know someone that has not please encourage them to do so. It is easy any “caveman” can do it. Go to www.avianglenhoa.com and click on register. From there it is self explanatory. If you need any help please let me know
If anyone is having a problem registering, not receiving emails, or forgot their password please contact me through my home email email@example.com or my home phone number 706-8996.
We are going to clean up the overgrown landscaping around the pool house/tennis court, repaint the pool house inside and out, and clean out the storage rooms in April. Bryan Klepinger is going to manage this project and will be looking for volunteers. Information will be posted and sent out via email for those who are registered on the website as we get closer.
We have only sent out one email concerning a break-in since the last news letter. Did you get it? If not please register on www.avianglenhoa.com
James “Capital Improvement” Murphy held the first Capital Improvement Committee meeting this past month. Consensus from all committee members – Avian Glen must be kept in a condition that is fresh, updated, and attractive to current and potential residences. Ideas discussed that would elevate Avian Glen as a mature neighborhood with a new look: Pool/Clubhouse, tennis/basket ball court, street lighting, street signs. If you would like to read the meeting notes please go to www.avianglenhoa.com
Pool, ponds, sprinklers, and misc
Quick update on your; pools, ponds, sprinklers, and misc. Please keep reminding the kids not to throw rocks in the Avian Glen ponds. If you see any throwing rocks please reminded them not to.
Mentioned last month we were trying to get a group rate for sidewalk repairs. Since we did not know how many are interested, he was told to bid the contract based on 10 sidewalk squares. His price is $300 for each square. Now that the snow is melting we can get an accurate count. Please let me know if you are interested or if you have another cement project we can work this into the bid to receive a better price. If you are looking for the municipal code governing the sidewalks see the City of Carmel general requirements 6-222 (b) (2) identify the owners’ responsibility to keep the sidewalks and driveways in proper state of repair and free from hazardous conditions.
